GOOD NEIGHBORS, BY DESIGN
What makes
Giga Energy different?
Every Giga Energy project is built the right way: responsibly, quickly, and in full partnership with the communities who grow with us.

Our promises
We treat communities with respect.
We work together with local officials, communities, and utilities from day one.
We build with local power costs in mind.
We manage power at our sites to ensure our builds don't raise power bills for local residents.
We don’t waste water.
Giga data centers use a unique cooling solution in a closed loop system — which means we use zero local water for cooling.
We are good neighbors.
Most construction happens in our factories before we arrive on site. That means less shipping time, less traffic, and less noise.
We keep local leaders
in the loop.
We stay in touch with local officials through every phase, not just when there's a problem to solve.
We invest where
we operate.
We put resources back into the communities that host us. We bring jobs, contracts, and spending to local economies.
We build responsibly.
Our sites go above and beyond for the communities and environments where we build.
We keep getting better.
We are constantly listening, learning, and innovating to be the best partners and neighbors we can be.
Water and conservation
Do you use local water to run the cooling system?
GigaBase uses zero local water to operate. There is no initial pull and no daily water use, beyond bathrooms and sinks for employees. The cooling solution is trucked in from the factory, and the data center does not connect to any local municipal water supply or reservoir for cooling purposes. Thanks to Giga's innovative cooling solutions, GigaBase's water use is the same as that of any other local business with the same number of employees.
Will the data center compete with local residents for water?
No. Giga sites are closed-loop systems built for zero water waste. Instead of using wasteful evaporation cooling methods, our chillers recirculate the same water continuously, and we do not pull from local water for our initial fill.
Do Giga data centers produce significant wastewater?
No. Giga Energy data centers do not discharge contaminated wastewater into municipal systems. The only usual wastewater produced is from sinks and bathrooms for local employees.
Electric grid impact and utility rates
Does a Giga data center increase local electricity rates?
No. Giga pays our own bills. We structure every project so our electricity costs aren't shifted onto residential ratepayers. We work with utilities to ensure the presence of a Giga facility is a helpful contributor to local utility revenue, not a drain on local resources.
Will the data center strain the local power grid?
No. We coordinate closely with the local utility from the start, complete grid and interconnection evaluations, and make infrastructure adjustments before the facility ever comes online.
How does Giga support grid reliability?
Giga manufactures our own equipment, including transformers, switchboards, and substations, which means we can ensure the quality of the equipment that connects to the grid is first-rate.
Energy and sustainability
Where does the data center get its electricity?
When a GigaBase is built, we become commercial customers of the local utility and generate local revenue. If clean or renewable energy is available through the utility provider, Giga uses those energy sources just like other businesses in the area.
What is Giga doing to reduce emissions?
We prioritize energy efficiency, deploy modern high-efficiency equipment, and right-size facilities to the workload. Our pre-engineered design minimizes on-site construction and reduces the footprint of the initial build.
How efficient are Giga’s data centers?
Our system doesn't rely on retrofitting an old model for efficiency. We designed GigaBase around efficiency from the start, with closed-loop liquid cooling and streamlined, pre-engineered connectivity.
Economic impact and jobs
How many jobs does a data center create?
Construction brings a large influx of temporary jobs during the build, and each new facility brings several highly-paid, permanent roles. The number of jobs depends on the size and capacity of each specific site.
Does Giga hire locally?
Yes. We work with local contractors and suppliers wherever we build, so the benefits of the project stay in the community instead of leaving with an outside crew.
How does the project benefit the local economy?
New tax revenue, infrastructure investment, and local spending during construction and operation. The same team that builds your site also stays involved through that work, so the benefits are ongoing.
Land use and site selection
How does Giga choose where to build?
We weigh existing infrastructure, utility access, transportation, environmental factors, and compatibility with local planning goals. With our model, 90% of the construction process happens inside our factories, meaning on-site footprint and disruption are far lower than that of a conventional construction project.
Does Giga develop on farmland or environmentally sensitive land?
No. We seek out suitable land for commercial development and conduct necessary environmental reviews before any builds. Avoiding sensitive areas is an important part of our site selection process.
How are environmental impacts evaluated before construction?
We conduct environmental assessments, work with local officials on permitting requirements, and coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies before work begins.
Noise and quality of life
Are data centers noisy?
Our closed-loop systems keep noise levels similar to other light-industrial facilities.
How does Giga reduce noise for neighbors?
We design each site to put distance and barriers like sound walls between equipment and neighbors. Building most of the facility in the factory instead of on site also means there's less heavy construction noise during the build process.
Will there be noise at night?
We monitor sound levels on an ongoing basis and operate to meet local noise requirements around the clock.
Traffic and construction impacts
Will construction create traffic congestion?
We plan for traffic flow, stagger contractor scheduling, and coordinate with local authorities to minimize impact. Because much of the build happens in our factories, fewer on-site traffic and deliveries are needed.
How long does construction typically last?
It varies by project, but our pre-engineered, factory-built approach lets us complete sites substantially faster than traditional construction timelines.
How will Giga communicate construction updates?
We provide regular updates to local officials and stakeholders before construction begins and keep everyone in the loop in the event of any changes to schedule or scope.
Community partnership
How does Giga support local communities?
We stay engaged in every community we build in through direct outreach and workforce opportunities.
How can local organizations work with Giga?
We welcome local partnerships. Reach out to press@gigaenergy.com and our team will be in touch to explore opportunities.
How does Giga gather community feedback?
Through public meetings, direct outreach, and open, ongoing communication channels with residents and local leaders.
